Magic that works is magic you can measure

Memory is a poor instrument. You will remember the working that landed and forget the three that went nowhere, and that is the wrong way round if you are trying to learn anything.

An operator who logs gets better faster. Not because writing changes the working, but because a record gives you evidence. Without one you are left waiting for something obvious enough to count as proof, and most results do not arrive that way. They arrive as a call returned, a door that was shut opening, a number moving. Written down, those become a pattern. Unwritten, they become a feeling you cannot trust.

    What you record

Four fields for every working: the timing, the petition, the line you used, and the indicators as they arrive. Twelve months of them, with a review page at the end of each month so the pattern has somewhere to gather.

The book also carries the planetary day and hour reference, the seven line timing map, and the diagnostics for a working that has produced nothing.

    What it is not

This is not a diary and there is nowhere in it to write about your feelings. Only the technical details of the operation: what you did, when, and what followed.

    Read the method first

The Log records workings. It does not teach them. The timing, the four pillars and the petition structure are in Astrological Magic, and the Log assumes you have it.
