    The Crown

Alert guardianship of a position already established.

    Favoured

    • Securing what has real value. A home, a workspace, intellectual property, whatever the previous stations built.
    • Deepening a friendship you intend to keep. The tradition is unusually specific that bonds formed here endure.
    • Making a sound position more stable rather than a risky one safer.
    • Travel by water.
    • Checking the locks, the records, the boundaries and the promises.

    Resisted

    • Complacency. The security here is real, the illusion of invulnerability is not.
    • Risking again what you have only just secured.
    • The dramatic defence. That belongs to Al-Dabaran. This is steady, prepared guardianship.

What the phase does to this station

Al-Iklil is the station of what endures. The phase decides whether you are adding to the position or locking it.

    New Moon

Quiet protection. Change the passwords, update the paperwork, and tell nobody you did it.

    Waxing

Build the position larger before you secure it, and deepen a friendship you intend to keep for years.

    Full Moon

What you have becomes visible, which is not always what you want in the station of guarding against theft. Use the light on the friendship rather than the inventory.

    Waning

Close the gaps. Cancel the unused access, end the lapsed arrangement, remove the weak point.

The station sets the direction. The phase sets how much force to apply.A good phase will not rescue a station that resists what you are doing.

    The current

Al-Iklil takes its name from the crown of stars in the head of Scorpio, three bright stars in a slightly curved line that the Arabs saw as a crown. After the commercial precision of Al-Zubana, the seventeenth completes the wealth sequence of the solitary arc. The fifteenth brought hidden resources and deep finding. The sixteenth governed the transaction. The seventeenth secures what the transaction produced.

The traditional image is a monkey in an iron seal, hands raised above its shoulders, the monkey being the old symbol of cleverness and the thief. In this canon she is a queen who has placed herself between what she has built and everything that would take it. Not aggressive. Alert. Genuine guardianship differs from aggression in that it does not go looking for conflict and is entirely prepared for it when it arrives.

This is also, across the historical sources, the station of lasting friendship. The Picatrix states plainly that a friendship made under this Moon will be durable and never destroyed. That recommendation sitting alongside the protection mandate makes sense once you see the underlying character. What this station governs is what endures. The transaction that does not expire. The friendship that does not deteriorate. The protection that does not lapse.

    Born under this mansion

The natal current of guarded fortune

Al-Iklil gives a current of protection, accumulation and guarded increase. Those born under it may learn the importance of securing what has been built, through friendship, property, stored value and protection from loss.

The gift is preservation. They guard the home, protect resources, and strengthen the friendships that deserve to last, understanding that fortune has to be protected after it arrives. The shadow is complacency, because protection fails when vigilance fades.
