The current
Al-Qalb takes its name from Antares, the Heart of the Scorpion, one of the four royal stars of the ancient world and among the most powerful fixed stars in the tradition. Antares carries the natures of Mars and Jupiter. On the surface that should give the broadly auspicious current that Regulus brings to Al-Jabhah, but this is a different kind of power. Mars in Scorpio is not the outward force of the opening arc. It is inward, concentrated, and in its shadow dangerous.
The traditional image is a snake holding its tail above its head. In this canon she is a queen who holds a serpent, not as a threat but as an emblem of the force she has learned to work with rather than flee. The snake is one of the oldest symbols of both poison and medicine, of what destroys in ignorance and heals in knowledge. She holds it because she understands what it is.
The healing here is not the warm, generous healing of Al-Jabhah. It is more elemental.
