Al-Shaulah
The StingCold precision. Not heat.
Favoured
- The decisive response to something that has encroached on what is yours.
- Containing a problem at its current extent before addressing it.
- Ending an arrangement that has been squatting on your space, your time or your attention.
- Returning a body or a practice to its natural rhythm after an interruption.
- Marking a limit and meaning it.
Resisted
- Acting before you are certain of the target. The sting lands exactly where it is aimed, including when that is wrong.
- Heat. This station is cold, and warmth here reads as imprecision.
- Drawing a line you do not intend to hold.

What the phase does to this station
Al-Shaulah is cold rather than hot, and precise rather than forceful. The phase decides how visible the line is.
New Moon
Draw the boundary without announcing it. Most limits hold better when they are not a declaration.
Waxing
Enforce it. Name what has crossed the line and move it back. The strongest use of the station.
Full Moon
The line becomes visible to everyone, including the person who crossed it. Right when it needs witnesses.
Waning
Remove what has been occupying the space, and restore the cycle it interrupted.
The station sets the direction. The phase sets how much force to apply.A good phase will not rescue a station that resists what you are doing.
The current
Al-Shaulah takes its name from the stinger of Scorpio, the two stars at the tail that carry the lethal point. After the healing and protection of Al-Qalb, the nineteenth completes the Scorpio sequence and carries its quality in the most concentrated and directive form. The sting is not random. It is precise, and it goes exactly where it is aimed.
The traditional image is a woman with her hands before her face. In this canon she is a queen standing at a boundary, her hands raised not in concealment but in the gesture of someone marking a limit. She is not hiding from what is in front of her. She is deciding what will and will not cross the line she is drawing.
The station has clear martial overtones throughout the tradition, auspicious for driving a force out of a place. In modern terms it governs situations requiring assertive, directed action against something occupying space it should not occupy. It also carries a connection to the body's own cyclical processes, and to any situation where a natural cycle has been interrupted or suppressed and needs restoring. The precision is its greatest virtue and its greatest danger.
The natal current of the sting
Al-Shaulah gives a life pattern around precision, removal and contested space. Those born under it may have to deal with intrusion, and may need to learn what belongs in their life and what must be expelled. The current can be fierce when rightly used.
The gift is targeted action. They identify the thing causing spread or decay, and remove what occupies space without permission. The shadow is misdirected force, because the wrong target creates greater harm.
A Natal Mansion Reading confirms your station from your birth chart, reads it against the condition of your Moon at birth, and gives you every date it returns over the next twelve months.
