    Favoured

    • The one goal that matters most, pursued narrowly.
    • Taking back a habit that has been running you.
    • Drawing something toward you rather than chasing it across territories.
    • Holding a boundary that has to hold.
    • Directing an appetite rather than suppressing it.

    Resisted

    • The pursuit that has lost touch with why it started.
    • Scattered effort. This station supports one arrow, not a handful.
    • The hunt that has become compulsion. The current will support it regardless, which is the problem.

    The current

Al-Na'am takes its name from the ostriches of Arabic astronomical tradition, four bright stars in the bow, arrow and foreleg of Sagittarius that the Arabs compared to ostriches going to a river to drink. The name used in this canon, the Beam, refers to the arrow itself: the directed projectile that goes exactly where it is aimed.

The traditional image is a centaur holding a drawn bow. In this canon she is a queen centaur, her human form carrying the intelligence that governs the animal power beneath her. The drawn bow is purpose at the moment before release. The decision has been made, the target identified. What remains is the letting go.

What the station governs is the relationship between those two natures. The animal drives that are part of every person, the appetites, the impulsiveness, the reactive thing that moves before the mind can catch it, are not suppressed here. They are aimed. The caution the tradition gives is about the hunt that becomes compulsion, the centaur who has forgotten how to stop. The current will support the pursuit regardless of whether the pursuit still deserves it.

    Born under this mansion

    The natal current of pursuit

Al-Na'am gives a current of pursuit, instinct and single pointed direction. Those born under it may be hunters of a kind, pursuing goals, people, skills, answers or forms of mastery with unusual focus. Their path improves when the target is worthy.

The gift is concentration. They tame unruly drives and direct instinct into useful action, and succeed where others scatter. The shadow is compulsion, where pursuit without purpose becomes a trap.

A Natal Mansion Reading confirms your station from your birth chart, reads it against the condition of your Moon at birth, and gives you every date it returns over the next twelve months.
