Al-Baldah

    The City

Completion seen clearly. Sufficiency to yourself.

Albaldah · Manubrij · ξ2 Sgr · ρ1 SgrThe stars this station is named after, in their real positions, brightness and colour. 11° wide.

    Favoured

    • Naming what has finished. A path, an arrangement, a version of yourself that no longer fits the life you are living.
    • Investing in what is genuinely working and releasing the weight of what is not.
    • Finding the inner resources your situation requires.
    • Work that is stronger for being done alone.

    Resisted

    • Beginnings, love, friendship, launches.
    • The past is more present than usual here, and the future has not yet taken a visible form.
    • Independence hardened into a refusal of all help.

What the phase does to this station

Al-Baldah is named for the empty place at its centre, and the solitary arc completes here. The phase decides what the emptiness is for.

    New Moon

The quietest completion in the cycle. A dark Moon in the station of endings, with nothing required of you.

    Waxing

Awkward. A growing Moon in a station of completion tends to grow the very thing you were finishing.

    Full Moon

You see the whole of it, forward and back, the way the two faced figure does. Clarifying, and not comfortable.

    Waning

The right use. Name what has ended, release its weight, and put what remains into what genuinely works.

The station sets the direction. The phase sets how much force to apply.A good phase will not rescue a station that resists what you are doing.

    The current

Al-Baldah takes its name from an area of sky behind Sagittarius that is notably sparse in stars. The name means the city, but also the uninhabited place, the desert, the gap. Arabic astronomy named this station for the absence at its centre.

After the directed pursuit of Al-Na'am, the twenty-first is where the solitary arc completes, and it completes with a quality honest about what every arc eventually delivers: the ending that makes the next beginning possible.

The traditional image is a two faced figure, one face looking forward and one behind. Janus, the god of doorways and thresholds. In this canon she is a queen looking at once toward what she is leaving and what she has not yet reached. That is the exact quality of the station. You are at the end of something. The question is whether you are seeing it clearly enough to know what to do about it.

    Born under this mansion

    The natal current of completion

Al-Baldah gives a life pattern around endings, independence and honest reckoning. Those born under it may be asked to see clearly when something has reached completion, and may become strong through solitude and the refusal to keep false structures alive.

The gift is clear completion. They acknowledge an ending without collapsing, and strengthen what genuinely works by removing what does not. The shadow is barrenness of spirit, where independence becomes a refusal of all help.
