The current
Sa'd al-Dhabih takes its name from two dim stars in the horn of Capricorn, with a third nearby that the Arabs saw as a sheep about to be sacrificed. The name means the fortune of the sacrificer: the luck that comes to someone who has given up something real in exchange for what matters more.
The Moon enters Capricorn here at the winter solstice point, and three quarters of the cycle is behind her. After the honest completion of Al-Baldah, the twenty-second opens the closing arc with the quality that genuine sacrifice produces. Not loss. Speed. Liberation. The fortune that arrives when the weight of what was clinging is finally released.
The traditional image is a winged figure with a helmet, feet bearing wings, holding a flaming torch.
