Sa'd Bula

    The Fortune of the Glutton

Dissolution of what should never have been held together.

Albali · Albulan · AlbulaanThe stars this station is named after, in their real positions, brightness and colour. 11° wide.

    Favoured

    • Separation and divorce, formal or otherwise.
    • Ending a partnership, collaboration or living arrangement that is making both parties worse.
    • Leaving a captivity, whether contractual, professional, or the kind that lives in a pattern.
    • Healing that first requires removing what has been feeding the illness.
    • Naming what cannot be joined.

    Resisted

    • Insisting that what is showing itself as incompatible is fine.
    • Forcing what this station is trying to separate. That costs more than it saves.
    • Treating the dissolution as the failure. What remains afterwards is stronger than the forced combination was.

What the phase does to this station

Sa'd Bula is the difficult middle of the closing arc, sitting between two generous stations. The phase decides how hard the separation lands.

    New Moon

Separate quietly. The decision made before it becomes a conversation, and before anyone has taken a side.

    Waxing

Difficult. A growing Moon feeds the very combination this station is trying to take apart.

    Full Moon

The incompatibility becomes undeniable to both of you. Clarifying, and there is no unseeing it.

    Waning

The right use, and the kindest. Let the wrong arrangement dissolve, and let the healing start there.

    The current

Sa'd Bula takes its name from two stars on the left hand of Aquarius, with a third nearby that the Arabs saw as about to be devoured. The name means the fortune of the glutton, and the traditional image is a cat with the head of a dog. In this canon she is a queen holding two contrary forces, one in each hand, with the expression of someone who has seen what happens when incompatible things are forced together and has decided to do something different.

This station sits in a complex position. It follows the liberation of Sa'd al-Dhabih and precedes the abundance of Sa'd al-Su'ud, and between those two generous stations it is the difficult middle passage. It governs the moment when the first speed of liberation meets the reality of what still needs resolving.

The cat with the head of a dog is two things fundamentally incompatible forced into a single form, and the result serves neither. What this station governs is the recognition and the action it requires. It also governs a particular kind of healing: the healing that begins with admitting the current arrangement is making things worse. The illness sustained by the treatment claiming to address it. The relationship preventing both people from being well. Here the dissolution is the healing.

The natal current of healing through separation

Sa'd Bula gives a life pattern around incompatible things being forced apart. Those born under it may see clearly when something cannot hold, and may be drawn into family, home or relationship situations where healing begins only after the false mixture dissolves.

The gift is liberation through separation. They name what cannot be joined, and help a household, a body or a bond recover by allowing the wrong arrangement to end. The shadow is forcing union where separation is the cure.
