The current
Al-Sarfah takes its name from the bright star at the tip of the lion's tail. The name means the changer, after the shift in weather the Arabs associated with this star's appearance. After three stations of difficulty, recovery and the full expression of earned authority, the twelfth introduces a different kind of change. Not the forward change of the opening arc, but the change that comes when something joined begins to pull apart.
The traditional image is a warrior and a dragon in combat. In this canon she is a queen facing a dragon, sword raised, shield extended. The dragon is not evil in the simple sense. It is the archetype of the force that resists. She is not attacking it. She is holding her ground against something that will not stop on its own.
